Groceries + Weekly Menu

Goodmorning! I love sleep.

I took an excursion with the kiddos this weekend to do some shopping at the new-to-me Aldi and Costco on this side of town. Tax on food is cheaper here, yay! Of course, both stores were humming on a Saturday.

On the left, $43.25 at Aldi. On the right, $75.93 at Costco. I’ll probably pick up a few more things mid-week.

forgive my hasty photo. didn’t realize it was blurry until later.

As you can see, I bought some shelf-stable snacky stuff (lower left). It’s always good to have some munchies around in the summer… for at the pool or to save us from a milkshake run on the way home after a long day. Amy persuaded me to try Aldi’s knock-off Kind Bars. Not completely sugar free, but they are gluten-free (contain some rice). I’d like to make my own completely grain-free ones using this simple ratio, but having them prepackaged is a time saver and helps with portion control.

We also have a potluck this week. I’m taking easy way out and bought a salad kit at Costco.

Breakfasts:
eggs with greens and hot sauce
blueberries & strawberries
lemon poppyseed muffins
coffee with cream

Lunches:
turkey, kale, & chipotle mayo tortilla wraps
dill pickles
fruit

Dinners:
sloppy joes, sweet potato oven fries, roasted green beans
zucchini spaghetti and meat sauce, salad with dressing
primal pizza from Primal Cravings (affiliate link), salad with dressing
sausage & sweet potato hash, roasted brussels sprouts
other tbd

Dessert:
paleo fruit tart (experiment)

Off to clean the house!
