Friday Favorites (92) — Freckled Italian

We are hunkered down for the weekend as Hurricane Ian passes through Charlotte—Rob was in Dublin for work all week and managed to change his flight to get home a day early and hopefully miss the worst of it on his travel day, so once he gets home this afternoon I think I will finally be able to relax and enjoy a weekend all together with no plans, which is always my favorite when it’s rainy and cold.

It’s been a while since I shared a Friday Favorites list, so here are some links before I sign off:

  • The Case for Bad Coffee. This piece felt like a hug.

  • Between the temperature dropping and all the rain we are getting, I’m seriously craving some cozy comfort food. I grew up eating a version of this simple recipe and I can’t wait to have it for lunch this weekend.

  • Currently on my reading list: this and this

  • I got these boots during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I absolutely love them. (They’re still on sale!)

  • Is anyone else watching House of the Dragon? I can’t get enough.

  • Another dish on my weekend recipe list—I truly never buy short ribs but I’ve been thinking about them all week.

  • Looking for something to do before midterms? Send postcards to swing states—I have 100 on my desk right now and we don’t have to send them until late October, so there’s plenty of time to help!

Wishing you a safe and dry weekend, wherever you are.
